Celebrating the life of

Claudette DeLoach Hillman

November 06, 1937 - September 06, 2024

Claudette DeLoach Hillman

Claudette DeLoach Hillman went home to Jesus on Friday September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving children in her home in Savannah, GA.

Claudette was born on November 6, 1937 in Claxton, GA to Claude DeLoach and Ora Lee Sutton DeLoach. She was married to her husband Stacy Butcher Hillman for 56 years until his untimely passing in 2010. Claudette was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher, as she so enjoyed pouring love and her unwavering faith in Jesus into the youth in her community. She worked faithfully at Sears and retired after 27 years.

Claudette and her friends could be found any given Friday night enjoying Margaritas together at Jalapeños Mexican Restaurant. She and her husband Stacy loved to play cards each week with their best friends Ann and Joe and did so for many years. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren rotten. Her sense of humor kept her family laughing and always on their toes.

She is preceded in death by her parents Claude DeLoach and Ora Lee Sutton DeLoach, her loving husband Stacy Butcher Hillman, and their daughter Aleen McKie. She is survived by her daughter Leigh Krebs Tuten (Rob) of Savannah and her son Butch Hillman of Rincon; her grandchildren Craig Krebs (Kate), Jessie Krebs, Robbie Tuten, Seth Hillman, Stacy Leigh Honeycutt (Thomas), and several great grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

A visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, followed by a 1:00 funeral service at Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in Claudette’s memory to Hospice Savannah, PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416

What wonderful memories of our youth running freely on 58th Street, piling into the car to head out to the Drive-In theater or the outdoor Roller Skating Ring. Thank you, Claudette, for the years we spent as Nextdoor neighbors as childhood pals. Wish when we returned to Savannah, I had made more of an effort to stay in touch as adults. With sadness I wish your family the joyful memories of your love. See you again in Heaven, hopefully I will get in the Pearly Gates!
